About the RoleRiverRock MIC is seeking a self-motivated, results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to expand our presence across the Greater Toronto Area. In this role, you will champion our brand by building, nurturing, and scaling strategic relationships with licensed mortgage agents and brokers.
The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial sales professional who can seamlessly translate broker relationships into high-quality deal flow, backed by a solid understanding of our alternative/private lending products, underwriting standards, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Territory Growth: Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to prospect new broker channels while maximizing volume from existing relationships.
- Deal Structuring & Advisory: Guide mortgage brokers and agents to ensure submitted applications align with RiverRock’s risk appetite and lending criteria.
- Brand Advocacy: Deliver high-impact presentations and webinars to various brokerage houses, networks, and teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Senior Management, Underwriting, Marketing, and Admin teams to deliver an industry-leading service experience to our broker partners.
- Industry Presence: Represent RiverRock MIC at key industry events, trade shows, seminars, and networking functions (e.g., golf tournaments).
- Market Intelligence: Monitor and report on competitor activities, market trends, and private lending shifts within the GTA.
- Product Innovation: Collaborate with internal teams to provide feedback for product enhancements and new program developments.
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven experience as a BDM or Underwriter within the Canadian mortgage industry.
- Market Knowledge: Deep, established relationships and extensive knowledge of the GTA broker and real estate markets.
- Education: Post-secondary education (preferably in Business, Commerce, or Economics) or equivalent work experience. Completion of relevant mortgage/underwriting courses is an asset.
- Core Competencies: A strong sales drive with an entrepreneurial mindset, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a proven track record in business development.
- Operational Excellence: Outstanding organizational skills with a strong sense of urgency, sharp attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service excellence.
- Tech Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with mortgage origination platforms (Filogix/Expert, Velocity, etc.) is preferred.
Additional Requirements
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required for territory travel.
